47. Eunapius, in the Lives of Antoninus and Aedesius, execrates the sacrilegious rapine of Theophilus. Tillemont (Mem. Eccles. tom. xiii. p. 453) quotes an epistle of Isidore of Pelusium, which re-proaches the primate with the 'idolatrous' worship of gold, the auri 'sacra' fames.
